Put the phone down. Righto, we've got it.

Righto.

We've got it.

On the tools, halfway through lunch or properly off the clock โ€” let it ring. Righto texts the caller straight away and asks what they need. Their reply lands in your normal messages, ready when you are.

You don't touch a thing. No app, no new number, nothing to remember. Call them back when you want to โ€” and if you want the job, the conversation is already moving.

Your phone doesn't get to decide what you're doing next.

Finish the job in front of you. Eat your lunch with both hands. Watch the kids play footy. Take the day off without spending it apologising to callers.

Righto sends the first reply for you. The caller knows they were heard, and you get their details in your normal messages โ€” without dropping what you're doing to answer.

Then you choose what happens next. Call back now, later, or not at all. If it's a job you want, the conversation is already moving.

Your time first. Righto, we've got it.

Quick answers

  • Already booked out?

Your message can tell callers when you're next available.

  • Can I change the text?

Any time. Your private login uses a code sent by SMS.

  • Is this another hipages?

No. Righto handles calls already coming to you.

  • What happens to voicemail?

Righto replaces it. One code brings it back.

See all fair questions

How it works

You set it up yourself in about five minutes. Nothing to install. Your number stays your number. A private login is there whenever you want to change the automatic text.

  1. You tap three codes into your phone

Takes a minute. Done once. From then on, any call you can't answer slides over to Righto. When you can answer, nothing's different. Want out? One dial code turns it off.

  2. Righto handles the first reply

Let a call ring out, and the caller gets a text within seconds. The only number they ever see is yours.

Once you're signed up we lodge your business name on the government's SMS Sender ID Register - run by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) - so nobody else can send texts pretending to be you. Approval takes about a fortnight. Until it comes through, your text-backs go out from an Australian mobile number instead of your name - everything else works from day one. The registration is tied to your ABN, so it's yours, and it goes with you if you ever leave.

  3. You decide when to call back

They've already texted you what they need and where they are. So when you're ready, you're not returning a mystery missed call โ€” you're choosing whether and when to continue a conversation that's already started.

  4. See what Righto caught

Each month you get one plain-English page showing the calls Righto caught and the texts it sent. If it isn't earning its keep, cancel. No lock-in.

What your missed caller gets

First, they hear a voice - so they know a text is coming (recorded in your own voice if you like):

"Hi, you've reached Dave's Plumbing. We're texting you right now - it'll be on your phone in a few seconds. Dave can't pick up just now, so reply to the text with what you need, and he'll call you straight back."

Then, seconds later, the text lands - sent as DAVES PLUMBING, not a number:

"Hi, it's Dave's Plumbing - sorry we missed your call. Dave will ring you back soon. Can't wait? Tap this number and text him what you need: 0400 123 456"

Your name, once ACMA approves it · about a fortnight
Until then it goes out from an Australian mobile number

Your business name and your number go where Dave's are. No voicemail to leave, no waiting on hold - they hang up knowing your text is already on its way. And that text is the whole trick: nobody texts a number that just rang out, but nearly everybody waits for a business that answers first. It's the difference between an empty counter and "be with you in a sec, mate."

Why your name has to be registered

Since the first of July, any business name that appears at the top of a text message in Australia has to be registered with the government first. It's part of the crackdown on scam texts, and it's run by the ACMA - the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

  • Nobody can pretend to be you.

Your business name is tied to your ABN on the register. Once it's yours, no one else can send a text under it - not a scammer, not a competitor. That's the whole point of the thing.

  • Cutting corners now looks like a scam.

Unregistered business names get stamped "Unverified" by the phone carriers and bundled in with the scam warnings. Anyone texting your customers under an unregistered name is doing you harm, not a favour.

  • It takes about a fortnight, and we do the paperwork.

When you sign up we lodge your name with your ABN and ID. Approval takes roughly two weeks. Until it lands, your text-backs go out from an Australian mobile number - the caller still gets a text within seconds, still sees your real number to ring, and everything else works from day one.

  • The registration is yours, not ours.

It's registered to your ABN, not to Righto. If you ever leave, it stays yours. We can't hold it hostage and we wouldn't want to.

SMS Sender ID Register, established under the Telecommunications (SMS Sender ID Register) Industry Standard 2025. Registrations opened November 2025; approval has been required since 1 July 2026. Businesses register through their SMS provider - there's no public form, which is why we lodge it for you rather than sending you off to do it.

What Righto isn't

  • Not another hipages.

We don't sell leads. The people ringing you already chose you - we just stop them slipping away. Nobody else ever gets that call.

  • Not job-management software.

Tradify and ServiceM8 do heaps - heaps you have to drive. Quotes, schedules, timesheets, dashboards. Righto has nothing you need to run every day. If you love running software, they're good tools. If you don't, that's us.

  • Not an app on your phone.

Think about when you actually miss calls: phone flat in the roof cavity. No bars past the black stump. Phone in the ute while you're down a trench. An app on a dead phone texts nobody. Righto lives in the network - it catches the call because your phone can't.

  • Not a robot talking to your customers.

One automatic text, and all it says is you'll ring back. Every word after that is you, from your own phone. No AI pretending to be you - your customers can tell, and so can we.

  • Not betting the customer makes the first move.

Sure, they've got your number - they could text you. They don't. An unanswered call reads like an empty counter, and the next tradie on Google is one thumb away. Righto answers first, every time, so waiting for you becomes the easy option.

  • Not a contract.

No lock-in, no exit fee, no accountant's letter to escape. Cancel from your account. That's it.

What's left is what you get: missed callers answered in seconds, with one page a month showing what Righto caught. $20 a month, GST included, for a limited time.

hipages vs Righto

To be fair to them: hipages and Righto do different jobs. hipages makes demand - useful if your phone's quiet. Righto protects the demand you've already got - the calls that are already yours. But since everyone asks, here's the side-by-side, from their own published pricing.

What you're comparing hipages Righto
Monthly cost From $129+GST membership1 $20 introductory price, GST included
Cost per lead $25โ€“110 per lead, on top, win or lose2 $0 - they're your own calls
Who else gets the lead? Same lead goes to the first 3 tradies to respond1 Nobody. Your phone, your customer
Miss a call and… The job goes to whoever answered The caller gets your text in seconds
Your number - Keep it. Nothing changes, no app
Your texts - From your own number day one; your business name once the ACMA register approves it (~2 weeks) - and that registration is yours, tied to your ABN
Setup Membership signup $0 setup, live in about five minutes
Lock-in Membership commitment None - cancel any month
What you get each month An invoice A one-page report: what a won job actually cost you
Works with hipages? - Yes - the text-back makes you a faster responder on hipages leads too

Already on hipages? Good - keep it.

hipages sends every lead to three tradies, and the quickest response usually wins the job. So the question isn't hipages or Righto - it's how many of the leads you're already paying $25โ€“110 each for are ringing out while you're on the tools. Miss one, and you've bought another tradie's job.

Righto texts every one of them back within seconds, often before the voice message has finished playing, which makes you the fastest responder on the panel without touching your phone. Call it insurance on your hipages spend: $20 a month protecting every lead you buy. That's about what a single lead costs you.

  1. hipages published membership pricing and lead model - hipages.com.au, checked July 2026.
  2. Per-lead fee range reported by hipages members in App Store reviews, 2025โ€“26.
  3. Independent analysis puts hipages' typical cost per won job at $150โ€“400 - 20minutemarketing.com.au, checked July 2026.

Worked example: $20 ÷ 3 won jobs = $6.67 per job. Against $150โ€“400 per won job on hipages3, the maths does the selling. But the numbers that matter are yours - that's what the calculator's for.

Fair questions

Is this another hipages?

No. hipages helps you find more work. Righto helps you deal with the calls already coming in without letting your phone run your day. If you don't answer, Righto texts the caller and gives them an easy way to say what they need. You decide when - or whether - to call back. If your phone is quiet and you want more leads, hipages may be useful. Righto does a different job.

I'm not techy.

You don't need to be. Setup is a few codes you tap into your phone once, and it takes about five minutes. Nothing to install. If you'd rather not do it alone, book a free setup call and we'll do it with you. After that, your phone works as usual. Your private login uses a code sent to your mobile - no password to remember - and you only need it when you want to change something.

Couldn't they just text me anyway? They've got my number.

They could. Righto means you don't have to hope they will. It sends the first message within seconds and gives them an easy way to say what they need. You keep doing what you're doing, and the context is waiting in your normal messages when you're ready.

What happens to my voicemail?

Righto replaces your no-answer voicemail with a short message telling the caller that a text is on its way. Seconds later, the text arrives and gives them an easy way to tell you what they need. If you ever want your old voicemail back, one dial code restores it.

Couldn't my phone just do this itself?

Not reliably. iPhones don't allow an app to send this text automatically after a missed call. Some Android setups can, but they still depend on your phone being on, charged and connected. Righto works through the phone network, so it can step in even when your battery is flat or you're out of range.

$20 - why so low?

$20 is the introductory price while we test Righto with its first real customers. It includes GST and your first seven days are free. The price is available for a limited time and may change later. There is no contract and no lock-in.

What happens if I cancel?

You cancel. That's it. No lock-in, no exit fee, no awkward phone call. No dramas.

What if I'm already booked out?

That can be when Righto is most useful. Use your private login to change the automatic text and tell callers when you're next available. People who can wait can text what they need; people who can't know straight away. You can update the message whenever your availability changes.

A note from Tony

Tony Laughton, founder of Righto

Righto's run by me. Most blokes set it up themselves in five minutes, but when you ring, you get me - I'll do it with you if you'd rather and stick around while you get the hang of it.

Here's the deal. Righto buys you time. It texts a missed caller back within seconds, gets the details into your normal messages and lets you decide when โ€” or whether โ€” to call. If you want the job, you still have to win it. Righto simply means your phone doesn't get first say over your lunch, your work or your day off.

- Tony, founder of Righto

Righto, let's talk

Most blokes set it up themselves in five minutes and never speak to me. If you'd rather have company while you do it, book a call - it's the questions call too. No sales team, no callback queue, no offshore call centre. A normal conversation with a real person, no obligation, and if the maths doesn't stack up for your trade we'll tell you straight.
